May Memorial Service is May 22

The annual Hospice Care Plus May Memorial Service is at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22 at First Baptist Church in Richmond.  A reception will follow with refreshments provided by hospice staff may memorialand volunteers.

The service gives the community a chance to pause to remember loved ones in the week leading up to Memorial Day. Guests may submit names of loved ones they wish to have included in the ceremony anytime up to and on the day of the service. To submit a name in advance of the service, contact Hospice at 859-302-2688 or hospice@hospicecp.org through 5 p.m. on May 21. On May 22, names may be submitted on site at First Baptist Church.

The May Memorial Service is led by Hospice Care Plus chaplains and includes ecumenical prayer and readings, music, and the reading of names. Guests are given a personalized memorial candle that will be lit when their loved one’s name is read.

Families whose loved ones were cared for by Hospice Care Plus are especially encouraged to attend to join hospice staff in remembering their family members.

Memorial donations are appreciated when a candle is requested, but they are not required. Donations are used to fund all Hospice Care Plus programs:  hospice home care, the Compassionate Care Center, palliative care, and bereavement care. All programs are provided regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
