Hospice Care Plus is now offering a weekly grief support group for those whose loved ones were cared for by the organization.
The group meets each Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hospice Care Plus & Compassionate Care Center, 350 Isaacs Lane in Richmond.
Pre-registration is requested before attending for the first time. It can be completed online, or by calling 859-986-1500.
Abby Embry, Hospice’s bereavement coordinator, says the weekly group is relaxed and informal.
“I want people to feel comfortable dropping in any week they feel they need extra support,” says Abby. “Something remarkable can happen when we share our grief stories with others and hear their stories as well. While you are feeling compassion for them, you build it up for yourself.”
For those who are not available on Thursday afternoons or who prefer one-on-one support, Abby offers virtual, phone, and in-person appointments. To request an appointment, call 859-986-1500.
