We believe that our community’s veterans deserve care that is tailored to their unique needs.
That’s why we are a proud partner in the We Honor Veterans program, a combined effort of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
As a We Honor Veterans partner, we work to demonstrate a systematic commitment to improving care for veterans in our service region. We work with local and regional veteran-related organizations to assess our ability to serve veterans and integrate best practices for providing care to veterans.
As part of our partnership, we are committed to:
- Veteran-centric education for staff and the community
- Increased organizational capacity to serve veterans
- Development of strategic partnerships
- Increased access to end-of-life and palliative care for veterans
- Improved quality of care for veterans
There are many ways to help us give the best care to our veterans. Consider donating to the partnership to help fund veteran care and services, or perhaps you are a veteran who can help by joining our Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer program. You can also host a special presentation to your church, civic group, or workplace on veteran issues at the end of life. To learn more or to join in the effort, contact us at 859-986-1500 or hospice@hospicecp.org.
Hospice Care Plus empowers those we serve to enjoy the highest quality of life, respecting their values, beliefs, needs, and goals through specialized care, education, resources, and grief support.
